Different Blush Application Techniques

Round Face
While round faces are cute, they can also make you look heavier. To counter this, use a blush brush to sweep blush from the cheekbones toward the hairline; this technique helps elongate the face.

Long Face
Long faces can sometimes look gaunt or lack vitality. Therefore, focus on horizontal application. Pick up a small amount of blush and apply it in inward, circular motions from the cheekbones toward the sides of the nose. Ideally, place the blush just outside the outer corners of the eyes to create a visual widening effect.

Square Face
Square faces often feature strong, angular features, so the goal is to soften the facial lines and add a touch of gentleness. Apply blush in circular motions, sweeping from the cheekbones toward the nose to soften the angles and make the face appear less harsh.

Oval Face
The oval face is considered the ideal face shape, and applying blush is straightforward. Simply start at the apples of the cheeks and sweep horizontally toward the temples in circular motions to add a healthy, rosy glow.

Heart-Shaped Face
This face shape looks youthful and attractive, and the blush application is simple. Apply the blush horizontally over the apples of the cheeks in an oval shape, blending it naturally; this enhances a youthful, girlish look.
